The application process for a reception school place in Northumberland is handled by the Northumberland County Council. The key dates for the 2025 intake are:

• November 1, 2024: The online application portal opens.

• January 15, 2025: The closing date for applications.

• April 16, 2025: National Offer Day - you will find out which school your child has been offered a place at.

• May 1, 2025: The deadline to refuse a school place.

• May 29, 2025: Any remaining places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

• December 31, 2025: The deadline for the local authority to consider late applications.
